मनमोहन सिंह ने यह भी कहा कि दुनिया में किसी भी देश ने ऐसा फैसला नहीं लिया, जिसमें 86 फीसदी करेंसी को एक साथ वापस ले लिया हो। उन्होंने कहा कि कैशलेस इकोनॉमी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए नोटबंदी का फैसला काफी गलत था। पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा, जो मैंने संसद में कहा था वही आज भी कहूंगा कि नोटबंदी होने के कारण लोगों को मुश्किलें बढ़ी हैं। यह कारोबारियों पर एक ‘टेक्स टेररिज्म’ की तरह लागू हुआ है।
नोटबंदी, जीएसटी से लगा दोहरा झटका
मनमोहन सिंह बोले कि नोटबंदी और जीएसटी के कारण भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था को दोहरा झटका लगा। इसकी वजह से छोटे कारोबार की कमर टूट गई। उन्होंने कहा कि आज भारत में युवाओं को नौकरी देने के लिए चीन से सामान आयात करवाना पड़ रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि 2016-17 के पहले हाफ में चीन से 1.96 लाख करोड़ का आयात हुआ था, मगी 2017-18 तक ये 2.14 लाख करोड़ रुपए तक पहुंच गया।
