घर में शहनाई की गूँज , लोगों के हँसी मज़ाक , सबके चेहरे पर वो ख़ुशी, पुरे घर की सजावट और हो क्यों ना घर की लाडली बेटी की शादी जो थी | बेटी ससुराल में भी खुश रहे इसलिए उसके पिता ने उसके जन्म के साथ हीं उसके दहेज की तैयारी शुरू कर दी थी | अपनी कई इच्छाओं को अधुरा छोड़ बेटी के भविष्य की चिंता में डूबे रहते थे और इसी चिंता के कारण बेटी को आज़ादी भी नही मिल पायी और ना ही वो शिक्षा मिल पाई जिसकी वो हक़दार थी | आज पिता ने अपनी जिंदगी भर की कमाई बेटी की शादी और उसके दहेज में खर्च कर दिए !
और तभी ये क्या? लड़के वालो ने और दहेज कि मांग कर दी ! पिता के पास अब कुछ भी न था देने के लिए ! और उसके बाद क्या था, शेहनाई कि गूंजे बंद, चेहरे की ख़ुशी गायब ! इसके बाद क्या क्या हुआ होगा ये तो आप भी सोच सकते हैं !
दहेज ने ना जाने कितनी बेटियों की ज़िन्दगी बर्बाद की है ! एक लड़की को हमेशा परिवार के लिए बोझ समझा जाता है ! ये दहेज ही है जिसने कन्या भ्रूण हत्या को जन्म दिया है ! लड़कियों के कम शिक्षा का कारण भी कहीं न कहीं दहेज ही है ! अगर एक गरीब परिवार की लड़की पढना चाहे फिर भी उसे वो अधिकार नहीं मिल पाता है क्यूंकि उसके पिता को, उसके परिवार को लड़की के जन्म लेते ही उसकी शादी के लिए पैसे बचाने होते हैं !
शादी के पहले तो दहेज को लेकर दिक्कतें आती ही हैं, शादी के बाद भी कुछ महिलओं को प्रताड़ित किया जाता है ! उन्हें घरेलु हिंसा का शिकार होना पड़ता है ! अगर वो महिला आवाज़ उठाना चाहे तो उसकी आवाज़ को दबाने की भी कोशिश की जाती है! देखा जाए तो दहेज आज आत्महत्या का भी कारण बना हुआ है ! दहेज के कारण एक गरीब या माध्यम वर्गीय परिवार का जीवन स्तर कम होता जा रहा है! लोग अपनी बेटी की ख़ुशी उसकी शादी अच्छे से करने के लिए, दहेज कि मांग को पूरा करने के लिए ऋण लेते हैं और उनकी सारी जिंदगी उस ऋण और उसके ब्याज को चुकता करने में ही गुज़र जाती है !
अगर हम पहले की बात करें तो दुल्हन के माता पिता का ये अपना निर्णय होता था की वो अपनी बेटी को क्या और कितना देते हैं ताकि उनकी बेटी को नए घर में जा कर किसी चीज़ कि कमी ना हो ! लेकिन इन दिनों दहेज उनके लिए मजबूरी बन गयी है ! धीरे धीरे ये शादियाँ व्यापार में तब्दील हो रही हैं ! कई जगहों पर ऐसा देखा जाता है कि लड़के कि तन्ख्वाह जितनी ही ज्यादा हो , दहेज की मांग उतनी ही ज्यादा होती है !
हमारी सरकार ने दहेज के ख़िलाफ़ बहुत सारे कानून बनाये लेकिन इसका भी धड़ल्ले से मजाक बनाया जा रहा है ! इसे रोकने के लिए भारतीय दंड संहिता में धारा 498’A के अंतर्गत कई प्रावधान हैं ! इसके बावजूद लोगो में इसका डर नहीं दिखता ! बिहार में 21 जनवरी 2018 को दहेज के ख़िलाफ़ मानव श्रृंखला भी बनाई गयी ! इसमें प्रदेश के करोड़ो लोगो ने हिस्सा लिया, इसके बाद भी वही लोग आज दहेज लेते देखे जा सकते हैं !
जब बात खुद पर आए यानि कि अपनी बेटी की शादी करनी हो तो दहेज लोगो के लिए मुसीबत का रूप ले लेती है, दहेज के ख़िलाफ़ लोग बड़ी बड़ी बातें करते हैं ! लेकिन वहीँ जब बात अपने बेटे की शादी करने की हो तो दहेज की मांग करते कोई नहीं हिचकिचाता !
