देवोत्थानी एकादशी आज, शुरू करें मंगल कार्य
देवोत्थान एकादशी कार्तिक , शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी को कहते हैं। आषाढ़ , शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी की तिथि को देव शयन करते हैं और इस कार्तिक , शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी के दिन उठते हैं। इसीलिए इसे देवोत्थान एकादशी कहा जाता है। बताया जाता है कि इस दिन भगवान विष्णु , जो क्षीरसागर में सोए हुए थे, चार माह उपरान्त जागे थे। विष्णु जी के शयन काल के चार मासों में विवाहादि मांगलिक कार्यों का आयोजन करना निषेध है। हरि के जागने के बाद ही इस एकादशी से सभी शुभ तथा मांगलिक कार्य शुरू किए जाते हैं।पौराणिक मान्यता के अनुसार कहा जाता है कि चातुर्मास के दिनों में एक ही जगह रुकना जरूरी है, जैसा कि साधु संन्यासी इन दिनों किसी एक नगर या बस्ती में ठहरकर धर्म प्रचार का काम करते हैं। देवोत्थान एकादशी को यह चातुर्मास पूरा होता है और पौराणिक आख्यान के अनुसार इस दिन देवता भी जाग उठते हैं। एकादशी के दिन सुबह तड़के ही विष्णु औए उनके सहयोगी देवताओं का पूजन करने के बाद शंख- घंटा घड़ियाल बजाने लगते हैं। पारंपरिक आरती और कीर्तन के साथ वे गाने लगते हैं,महिलाएं भोर में ही सूप का बाजा बजा कर ईश्वर को आमंत्रित करती है।
तुलसी विवाह
देव उठनी एकादशी के दिन ही भगवान श्री हरि के शालीग्राम रूप का विवाह तुलसी के साथ किया जाता है। तुलसी को विष्णुप्रिया भी कहा जाता है। मान्यता है कि जब श्री हरि जागते हैं तो वे पहली प्रार्थना हरिवल्लभा तुलसी की ही सुनते हैं। दरअसल यहां तुलसी के माध्यम से श्री हरि का आह्वान किया जाता है। अपने जीवन को उल्लासमय बनाने और परमानंद की प्राप्ति के लिये तुलसी विवाह का आयोजन किया जाता है। मान्यता तो यह भी है कि जिन दंपतियों की संतान नहीं होती उन्हें एक बार तुलसी का विवाह कर कन्यादान अवश्य करना चाहिये। असल में तुलसी को जड़ रूप होने का श्राप मिला था जिसकी अलग-अलग पौराणिक कहानियां भी मिलती हैं।
