चेन्नई। तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री के पलानीस्वामी ने बुधवार को कहा कि उन्होंने उधार पर धन देकर अधिक ब्याज वसूलने वालों के खिलाफ मिल रही शिकायतों पर तेजी से कार्रवाई करने के लिए जिला क्लेक्टर और पुलिस अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया है. यह कदम तिरूनेलवेली जिले में सूदखोरी के कारण एक परिवार के खुदकुशी करने के बाद उठाया गया है. मौजूदा कानून के अनुसार, उधार देने वाले अत्यधिक ब्याज दर नहीं वसूल सकते. यह जिक्र करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने प्रभावित लोगों से भी अपनी समस्याओं के हल के लिए अधिकारियों से संपर्क करने को कहा.
पलानीस्वामी ने कहा कि कर्जदाता अत्यधिक ब्याज दर वसूल न कर सकें, इसके लिए जे जयललिता की अगुवाई वाली अन्नाद्रमुक सरकार ने वर्ष 2003 में तमिलनाडु अत्यधिक ब्याज की रोकथाम कानून लागू किया था. उन्होंने कहा कि इसमें कर्जदाताओं से बचने के लिए कई प्रावधान हैं और इसमें शामिल राशि का भुगतान करके अदालतों के माध्यम से विवादों का निपटान करना भी शामिल है.उन्होंने कहा कि कानून में प्रचलित ब्याज दरों से अधिक रकम वसूल करने वाले कर्जदाताओं के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई करने का प्रावधान है. मुख्यमंत्री ने उल्लेख किया कि उनकी सरकार ऐसे सूदखोरों से लोगों को बचाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है.
