नई दिल्ली। पैट्रोल और डीजल की कीमतों के तीन साल के उच्चतम स्तर पर पहुंचने से विपक्षी दलों के निशाने पर आई मोदी सरकार के उत्पाद शुल्क में दो रुपए प्रति लीटर की कटौती करने से दिल्ली में दोनों ईंधनों की कीमत 2.50 और 2.25 रुपए प्रति लीटर कम हुई है।
पैट्रोल और डीजल के दाम जून 2014 के बाद के उच्चतम स्तर पर पहुंच गए थे जिसे लेकर मोदी सरकार विपक्षी दलों के निशाने पर थी। सरकार ने इसी वर्ष 16 जून से दोनों ईंधनों के दाम रोजाना के आधार पर तय करने का फार्मूला लागू किया था। इससे पहले दोनों ईंधनों के दाम अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में कीमतों के आधार पर हर पखवाड़े तय किए जाते थे।
कटौती से पहले पेट्रोल पर 21.48 रुपए और डीजल पर 17.33 रुपए प्रति लीटर का उत्पाद शुल्क लगता था। देश के विभिन्न राज्यों में दोनों ईंधनों पर वैट की दरों में विभिन्नता होने से इनके दामों में एकरूपता नहीं है।
सरकार ने पैट्रोल और डीजल की कीमतों में अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में दैनिक उतार-चढाव के आधार पर 16 जून को जब दोनों ईंधनों के दाम रोजाना तय करने का निर्णय लागू किया था उस समय राजधानी में इनकी कीमत क्रमशरू 65.48 और 54.49 रुपए थी।
